Police in the Northern Region wish to assure contestants, affiliates, fans and football lovers of its preparedness towards achieving maximum security at this year’s Football Association of Malawi (FAM) elections.

The elections, slated for Saturday, December, 16, 2023 will be held at Sunbird Mzuzu Hotel in Mzuzu city.

To ensure the elections are conducted in an orderly atmosphere, the police will deploy it’s officers, both in uniform and plain clothes, in and outside the venue of the function as well as across Mzuzu City. This is to ensure that no acts of hooliganism, violence or any disorder are allowed.

The Police appeals to contestants, affiliates and fans to exercise caution, collaborate and maintain peace and order before, during and after the elections.

Police officers will ensure that all participants adhere to the strict identification measures as put forward by FAM’s accreditation requirements.

The Police will not hesitate to arrest and bring to book those who will be found causing chaos or disturbing peace.
