Angry students from DMI St John the Baptist University on Wednesday went on rampage and killed suspected thief who was caught red-handed stealing a cell phone from one of their fellow students.

It is said that the deceased together with his two colleagues attacked one of the students around the campus and robbed him a cell-phone.

The victim shouted for help and the students and some villagers reacted swiftly by rushing to the scene where they managed to apprehend the suspect while his two colleagues escaped.

Instead of handing him to police, the angry students and villagers took the law into their on hands by beating him mercilessly and the suspect died on the spot.

Police are yet to comment on the matter.
