The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is scheduled to hold its march awaited elective conference on December 15, 16, 2023 at Natural Resources College in the capital Lilongwe.

Former Minister of Homeland Security Cecilia Chazama announced this after the DPP National Governing Council (NGC) meeting she chaired on behalf of the party President Peter Mutharika.

The meeting has also elected Mwanza Central member of Parliament Nicholas Dausi as chairperson for the convention and Baxter Kita as his deputy.

Effort to talk to DPP spokesperson Shadrick Namalomba proved futile.
