Police at Chintheche in Nkhata-Bay, are keeping in custody a 21-year-old Kalista Msiska for allegedly cutting iron sheet on a roof of a shop belonging to Connex Majawa with intention to gain entry into it to steal.

According to Majawa, on Sunday December 3, 2023 midnight, the watchman saw the suspect while he had already created an entry on the roof by cutting an iron sheet and made an effort to arrest him.

Nkhata-Bay police spokesperson, Kondwani James has confirmed the incident saying Chintheche police arrested Msiska who was found with breaking instruments and charged him with breaking into a building with intent to commit a felony therein.

James says Msiska who hails from Chikhumbi Village, Traditional Authority Malanda in Nkhata-Bay district will appear before court soon.
