Man arrested for possessing live Pangolin

Police in the Eastern Region have arrested 35-year-old Christopher Jailos for allegedly being found in possession of a pangolin.

According to Eastern Region Police deputy public relations officer Edith Kachotsa, the police in conjunction with National Parks and Wildlife officers arrested Jailosi at Chinamwali Trading Centre in Zomba where he was selling the pangolin.

The publicist said Jailosi is expected to appear in court soon to answer the charge of being found in possession of specimen of listed species contrary to Section 110B of National Parks and Wildlife Act.

Jailosi hails from Ndungunya Village in Traditional Authority Mkhumba in Phalombe.
