National police spokesperson Peter Kalaya has assured Malawians of voluntary surrender of illegal guns without prosecution during the month of November.
The move aims to enhance national security by reducing the risk of illegal firearms in criminal activities.
The amnesty comes as Malawi observes the International Firearms Amnesty Month, extended to November.
The police have already destroyed 1,073 firearms collected over the past five years.
