MLANGO Association drill boreholes in schools in Mulanje

In order to promote hygiene and to deal with the problem of lack of clean water in schools, the MLANGO, Association which is from Germany has given aid to four primary schools in Mulanje district.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of one of these school in Mapereka Primary school in the area of senior chief Mabuka, one of the officials of MLANGO Dr. Eckhard Binder said that the coming of the borehole at the school will help learners to avoid the problem of Cholera because of drinking unsafe water.

Dorothy Kanyole who is one of learners in standard 8 said she is happy because now learners at school will not have to walk long distance to look for water, while they are at school.

In her speech, the chairperson of Mulanje local government council, Thokozani Namoyo thanked the MLANGO Association for the assistance saying that it has come at the right time when the local government is affected by water issues.

A sum of 8 million kwacha has been used to dig the boreholes, and the money has come from Germany government.

Some of the schools that have benefited from this support are Nkondezi, Mwangothaya and Nsanama.
