Khuda parts ways with Syrian club

Malawian striker Khuda Muyaba has parted ways with his Syrian club Tishreen and is now pondering  his next move.

In an interview yesterday, the former Moyale Barracks and Silver Strikers striker said contract misunderstandings with his club led to the termination of the contract.

“They were failing to honour the contract conditions. I cannot proceed in such environment. I am travelling home and will see what God will provide,” he said.

The club issued a statement announcing the termination of the contract hours after losing away to Alwathba 2-0 in a game Muyaba played.

However, the club did not disclose reasons for parting ways with the 30-year-old.

Reacting to the development, Mzuzu-based football analyst Julius Mithi said there is more that has not been disclosed concerning Muyaba’s contract termination.

“We are all aware that the player has attitude problems. We cannot take wholly what he is speculating on the contract termination. There can be a lot on why he has parted ways with the Syrian club,” he said.

Muyaba joined the club in August this year. He helped the side to win the August Cup, scoring four goals in three games. He also registered two assists.

Since then, the striker failed to find the back of the net

He scored two goals on his debut to help Tishreen SC beat Jabala 5-1 in the Syrian Premier League.

Muyaba joined Tishreen as a free agent after terminating his contract with Polokwane City of the Premier Soccer League in South Africa.

At Polokwane City, he struggled during his first season in the DStv Premiership but rediscovered his scoring boots in the second-tier league when the team was relegated.

He then finished as the second top goal scorer in the second-tier league with 16 goals.

However, last season, he had limited game time as he wanted out of the club.

Polokwane are back in the DStv Premiership.

Before moving to South Africa, the striker won the Golden Boot Award in the TNM Super League with 21 goals in 2021.

He was also part of the Flames squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.
