After presiding over the 7th Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) congregation President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera conducted a development rally at Chadza primary school ground in Lilongwe Msozi in the area of senior chief Chadza in the district.
The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and other members of Tonse Alliance pulled in a large crowd that attended the rally.
During the rally Chakwera called upon the people in the country to embrace government development vision, which is aimed at transforming Malawi into an economically self-reliant country.
Chakwera said that there is a need for the country to find opportunities, especially in the agriculture sector through the mega-farms that have already started across the country so that the country produces more crops for both consumption and export.
“Let us work hard in our fields this year, as the fertilizer for the affordable inputs programme (AIP) will be distributed on time to the beneficiaries.
“The achievement of food security at the household level is one of this government priorities. Dependency syndrome will not take us anywhere,” he said.
Senor Chief Chadza in his talking at the rally he appreciated what the government under Dr. Chakwera that it is doing a great work, and he also requested the government to buy his area a police vehicle because they don’t have it, he also promised Dr. Chakwera that his ready to help on government programs.
The rally was attended by various MCP officials, Member of Parliament, Cabinet and Deputy Ministers and other Tonse Alliance members.
