Suspect in the gruesome murder of Coca-cola employee Allan Witika, Lester Maganga has filed for a bail application at the High Court.
Maganga who is personal assistant to Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu, is accused of murdering Witika over a woman in Lilongwe.
Lawyer for the suspect Innocent Kubwalo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Kubwalo, his client is waiting for the High Court to set up a date to hear the application.
The Lilongwe Magistrate court on Monday committed the case to High Court.
Wittika’s body was found dumped in the backseat of his car in Area 15 residential estate in Lilongwe on September 20 2023.
He was laid to rest at Misesa Cemetery in Blantyre on September 22.
