Police in Mzimba have confirmed the death a 19 year old Vincent Moyo after he was struck by lightning.
According to Mzimba Police Station spokesperson, Peter Botha, the deceased and and his friend were on a bicycle from Zubayumo Trading Centre during a rainy night.
Upon reaching Kazewe bridge on the Zubayumo – Endindeni earth road, both were hit by lightning.
Tragically, Vincent Moyo lost his life due to the impact. His friend survived and was taken to Mzimba District Hospital.
Postmortem results later revealed that Moyo died from cardiac arrest resulting from the lightning strike.
