Lilongwe City Council temporarily closes down M1 road

Lilongwe City Council (LCC) has temporarily closed down the road section between the M1 junction opposite Wullian Supermarket in Area 2 up to the minibus terminal at Malangalanga.

Lilongwe City Council Chief Executive Officer Dr. Macloud Kadam’manga has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

According to Kadam’amnja, the M1 road will be closed for a period of 2 weeks effective 14 October to Monday 30 October 2023.

“During this period all road users will be using the road from M1 junction to Bwaila hospital in order to access the min bus terminal”, said Kadam’manja.

The temporary close will help the contractor who is constructing the Lilongwe bridge to complete the drainage works.
