Zomba District Health Office (DHO) has confirmed a case of cholera in Chikanda Township, where a University of Malawi student tested positive for the disease.

In response, DHO spokesperson Arnold Mndalira stated that targeted interventions and intensified health promotion activities will be implemented to contain the cholera outbreak in the district.

This confirmation has raised concerns about the potential spread of cholera in the area, prompting immediate action by health authorities.

Meanwhile, Karonga and Lilongwe districts have also recorded one case of cholera each.
