The Ministry of Education has turned down students’ plea, seeking temporary suspension of the hiking of tuition fees.

Earlier last month, Public University Students’ Representative Council (SRC)’s met before engaging the ministry on Monday.

They argued their case, stating that the hike was ill-timed and unreasonable saying it needed to be temporarily suspended pending further consultations.

But, while acknowledging that the fee hike was ill-timed, the Minister of Education has told them that there will be no reduction of tuition fees neither will there be suspension of the same.
