The law enforcers in the capital Lilongwe have arrested well-known right activist Bon Kalindo who was scheduled to lead a group of concerned Malawians in protesting against President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s leadership.
The grouping trading under the banner [Malawi First(Concerned Citizens of Malawi) wanted to hold demonstratiosn in Lilongwe to force President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima to resign from the their offices.
The grouping wanted to march from the District Commissioners office to State House where they wanted to present a petition direct to Chakwera.
But the Lilongwe City Council on Tuesday blocked Kalindo and his group from proceeding with the protest.
Meanwhile, Kalindo defied the Lilongwe City Council call to call-off the protest hence the arrest.
