In a recent incident, Balaka police have taken a 24-year-old man, Frank Kapalire, into custody on charges of theft.

Kapalire is alleged to have stolen four pieces of timber, two mattresses, and two pairs of shoes, collectively valued at K200,000.

The arrest is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to curb crime.

The suspect will appear before court soon.
