An unidentified female pedestrian has died in a hit and run road accident that occurred on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at around 19:30 near Mzimba ADD Offices.

According to Mzimba Police Station Publicist, Sub Inspector Peter Botha,  It is believed that on the mentioned date and time, an unknown rider was riding a motorbike from the direction of Mzimba boma, heading towards Kazomba along Kazomba – Mzimba M9 road.

Upon reaching Mzimba ADD Offices, the rider collided with the female pedestrian, who was walking in the same direction. As a result of the impact, the pedestrian sustained head injuries and fractures on both arms, and she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mzimba District Hospital.

Meanwhile, Police in the district are appealing to members of the public who might have information about the rider to report to them or the nearest police station.

The deceased’s body is being kept at Mzimba District Hospital Mortuary. Anyone with knowledge of the missing person, whether a relation or friend, is urged to report to Mzimba Police Station for identification.
