Police in Mchinji intercepted 40 Malawians who were being trafficked to South Africa.

The victims were carried in three vehicles and were intercepted at the Malawi-Zambia border.

Station Officer Charles James Mpezeni confirmed the development but did not disclose further details.

The rescued individuals are now safe from the trafficking attempt.
