DPP summons Nankhumwa to disciplinary hearing for conducting rally without approval from APM

The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has summoned the party’s Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa to a Disciplinary hearing over a recent whistle stop tours held in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Nankhumwa is accused of conducting whistle stops in the southern region without consulting the party president Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

This has been confirmed in a letter signed by Jean Namathanga Disciplinary committee secretary.

According to the letter, Nankhumwa is scheduled to appear before the disciplinary committee which will be chaired by former Minister of Agriculture Dr. George Chaponda this coming Wednesday.

The disciplinary committee which was “dissolved” by the Supreme Court on non compliance order is expected to face its legitimacy in court as High Court is set to meet in Lilongwe tomorrow on a separate matter that one NGC member Biliy Malata dragged the party.

DPP is going through troubled waters due to leadership vacuum.
