Mzuzu High Court Commences Trial of Tadikira Mafubza and Co-Accused in Human Trafficking Case

Today, the High Court in Mzuzu will commence the trial of former President Peter Mutharika’s stepson, Tadikira Mafubza, and five co-accused persons.

Mafubza is answering to the charges alongside Samuel Navaya, Duncan Kalulu, David Luhanga, Thomas Kazembe and Boniface Ngulube.

They are facing twelve charges, including manslaughter and aggravated human trafficking, in connection with the discovery of 30 bodies of suspected illegal immigrants in a mass grave in Mtangatanga Forest Reserve, Mzimba District, late last year.

The trial will be presided over by High Court Judge Gladys Gondwe, with the state presenting witnesses and postmortem results.

More details to come…
