Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka has expressed shock over the death of Dedza Central Constituency Member of Parliament Daniel Halmiton Chiwere.

Chiwere died of pneumonia at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe on Monday.

Writing on his official Facebook page Mkaka said the party has lost a dedicated member.

“Shocking is an understatement! Less than a month ago I was with you when your wife was interred!

“An asset to the Malawi Congress Party! Young, disciplined, dedicated, visionary, principled, selfless, team player, resolute, focused, placid, passionate, go-getter etc! The MCP family has lost big!,” wrote Mkaka.

He added: “Tilire bwanji!”

Meanwhile, funeral details are still sketchy.
