Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that councillor for Mlomba ward in Machinga, Alexander Cosmos Nkhoma has been arrested.

The arrest happened during a full council meeting.

The house alleged that the councilor was threatening Senior Chief Mlomba of the district to exit the chamber during an election of a council chairperson.

Councillor will appear in court soon.

Cosmos was recently also arrested for diverting a 30-tonner truck of maize initially meant for Tropical Cyclone Freddy survivors.

He is a councillor for the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
