As demonstrations against same sex marriages have started in Blantyre and other parts in the country, Arch Bishop Thomas Luke Msusa of Arch Diocese of Blantyre has asked the Malawi parliament to come up with laws that will protect families in Malawi.

“We say no to same sex marriages in Malawi. Let us protect families,” said Arch Bishop Msusa whose sentiments were echoed by Pastor Zacc Kawalalala of Word Alive Ministries and Sheikh Dinala Chabulika.

Religious leaders and their followers are marching to the Blantyre District Commissioner’s office to present their petition against same sex marriages.

Similar demonstrations are also happening in other parts of the country including Zomba, Machinga and Lilongwe.
