Police in Mwanza through a border checking point have arrested Rhoda Brighton and Kapherana Therere for being found in possession of cannabis sativa without a permit or licence.

The pair was apprehended while travelling to South Africa in quest of greener pastures.

According to substance detectives at the border, Rhoda was found with a big plastic bag and six big sachets containing the drug, while Kapherana Therere was found with loose cannabis sativa in a paper bag and two sachets.

The two will appear before a court of law to answer the charge of being found in possession of cannabis sativa without a permit or licence.

Rodah Brighton, Aged 33, hails from Benjamin village, Traditional Authority Kanduku in Mwanza, and Kapherana Therere hails from Mulongolola village, Traditional Authority Kanduku in Mwanza.
