BUMPY ROAD TO CANAAN: Long fuel queues return in Malawi

Fuel shortages have hit Lilongwe and Mzuzu, with long queues being reported in different filling stations.

A fuel attendant at one of the stations in Lilongwe said the pumps have been running dry for the past 8 hours.

A Minibus driver in the Mzuzu city Chimwemwe Manda said the development has affected their businesses as they are not operating since their car tanks are empty.

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority —MERA Chief Executive Officer Henry Kachaje is yet to comment on the matter.
