Police in Mulanje have launched a manhunt for a driver who has hit to death an 85-year old cyclist identified as Jailos Malingamoyo Tuesday evening.

Mulanje police publicist Innocent Moses says both the driver and the cyclist were heading to Luchenza from the district.

Upon arrival at Musisi trading centre, the vehicle collided hit Malingamoyo as he was turning to the right lane to Mombo Primary school.

Police say, following the impact, Malingamoyo sustained severe head injuries, fractured right leg and was pronounced dead on arrival at Mulanje district hospital.
