A 20-year-old man, identified as Saukani Chisi, has today been sentenced to eight years imprisonment for having sex with a 16-year-old girl with mental disability in Ntchisi District.

State prosecutor Sub-Inspector James Ngupa Muyila, told the court that Chisi, committed the offence between the months of February and March this year.

In court, Chisi pleaded guilty to the charge which is contrary to section 139 of the penal code.

Taking her turn, First Grade Magistrate Dorothy B Kaluwa sentenced Chisi to eightyears imprisonment to deter other would be offenders.

Chisi hails from Thaira village in the area of Sub- Traditional Authority Masanya in the district.
