An angry mob from Limbuli in Mulanje district has destroyed property worth millions of kwacha at Edgar’s Lodge owned by the businessman Edson Nachuma.

Nachuma, whose house has also been destroyed by the mob, is being suspected by the angry mob of being behind spate of robberies in the area.

The rioters have gone away with assorted property including two vehicles, plasma screens, beddings, office and house furniture and other valuable items.

According to Zodiak Online, the riot follows an incident on Sunday night where unknown robbers killed one businessman only identified as George Moninji.

Meanwhile, Police have since withdrawn from the two premised as angry people continue to plunder.
