Ministry of Homeland Security Reveals Annual Loss Of Over K 357 Billion Due To Nonpayment of Business Resident Permits by Illegal Immigrants

The Ministry of Homeland Security has reported an annual loss of more than three hundred fifty-seven billion kwacha annually due to illegal immigrants not paying for Business Resident Permits.

The ministry has revealed that there are over fifty-one thousand undocumented immigrants operating in different areas of the country without the required permits.

Homeland Minister, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has emphasized that any foreigner who wants to do business in Malawi should pay an annual fee of seven thousand United States dollars

Ng’oma expressed concerns that this situation has resulted in significant tax losses for the country and has also led to money being taken out of Malawi illegally since 1994.
