President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has extended contract of the Inspector General of Malawi Police Service (MPS) by three years.

State House, through Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
“Yes, I can confirm that the IG has been given a three year contract,” said Kasunda.

According to Kasunda, the extension has been done to recognize the good work the Inspector General has demonstrated in her tenure of office.

Yolamu replaced Dr. George Kainja who was fired for his involvement in corruption scandal involving well-known businessman Zunneth Sattar.
