Multichoice Malawi has on Wednesday night treated Malawians to an exclusive screening of the first episode of Shaka Ilembe.
Shaka Ilembe is a fresh and the most anticipated story of the year that takes fans back into the hills and valleys of time of the famous Zulu King and the events that shaped his remarkable life.
The setting is back in the 1700s, with iterations from his early childhood through to adulthood.
Speaking during the event, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Arts and Culture Owen Chomanika said the story of the Zulu King is remarkable and explains of leadership quality, courage and birth of nationalism.
He advised people to realize their identity in order to encourage and protect their traditions.
Taking his remarks, Inkosi Gomani V said it was significant for Malawians to adhere to cultural norms that speaks and build a strong society.
Corporate Affairs Manager for Multichoice Malawi, Zena Makunje, appreciated the role and existence of traditional leaders in society, saying they are custodians of culture hence render them with respect.
Makunje said the Shaka Ilembe series illustrates the power and leadership quality that traditional leaders today should hold to.
The twelve-part episode, Shaka Ilembe was filmed and produced in South Africa with its director Bongumusa Zungu.
