Former Nguludi Girls Primary School Teacher In Chiradzulu Accused of Drawing Salaries While Pursuing Nursing Career, Granted Court Bail

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken legal action against a former teacher at Nguludi Girls Primary School in Chiradzulu.

The accused, Josophine Mkwamba, has been apprehended on allegations of receiving salaries as a teacher despite abandoning the profession to pursue a nursing career.

ACB’s principal public relations officer, Egrita Ndala, revealed that the arrest took place on June 7, 2023, following a complaint lodged against Mkwamba.

The complaint stated that she was still receiving a salary from the Ministry of Education, despite no longer being actively engaged in teaching.

Astonishingly, it was reported that she had drawn a total of K3,911,698.05 in salaries while pursuing her nursing studies

Following her arrest, Mkwamba was granted bail and is expected to appear before the Chiradzulu Magistrate Court on July 13, 2023, for a full trial.
