People’s Transformation Party (PETRA) has today slammed President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and his leadership for failing to bring to book those who were involved in “butchery fertilizer scam’”.

Chibambo was speaking in Blantyre today at a press briefing where he sounded an alarm over the alleged corruption involved in Romanian AIP deal which has raised serious eyebrows.

“What pains most is that most of these deals are done in secret. But looking at the last year scandal one can ably conclude that another scam has been committed and commissioned by the same very people and nothing will happen again to them. It is about looting business and not serving Malawians, said Chibambo who was also part of Tonse Alliance government before he terminated it due to corruption scandals.

He went to say that you can not fool all the people all the time, but you van fool some people some time.

“These dubious deals will be smoked out one day,” said a viably angry Chibambo, a lawyer by profession himself

Government is at pains to explain how it found out itself in sourcing the intermediary when the budget passed was that it will buy direct from the producers.

Last year, the same Ministry of Agriculture was involved in a serious scandal concerning AIP.
