Chimwendo addressing the red battalion
National Youth Director for the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Richard Chimwendo Banda says President Dr Lazarus Chakwera agenda is to lift socioeconomic status of the downtrodden, deprived, poor, marginalized among others.
Chimwendo was speaking today at Msukwala Primary School in Traditional Authority Mlonjeni in Mchinji South Constituency where he graced the rally as the Guest of Honour.
Minister of Lands Deus Gumba hosted the development rally.
In his remarks, Chimwendo reiterated that economic development is the MCP’s “top priority” though the economic fundamental institutions are stuck in low gear, battered with cyclones, COVID-19, wars among others.

“Despite all those challenges, President Chakwera will continue to put his best for the benefit of poor Malawians,” he said.
Chimwendo Banda who is also Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture said the youths and women are at the center of President Chakwera’s government agenda because he understands that progress and strength of any nation lies in such vibrant groups.
Chimwendo also expressed his disappointment over the low prices farmers are being offered regardless of the farmgate government issued some months ago.
Several MCP top brass attended the development rally including MCP Central Region Chairperson Zebron Chilondola, MPs, traditional leaders, among others.
