FCB deposits MK15 Million to Beit Cure International Hospital for fundraising dinner

First Capital Bank (FCB), one of the leading financial institutions in the county, has deposited MK 15 Million towards Beit Cure International Hospital’s fundraising dinner slated for August 4, 2023 at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre.

Speaking after making the deposit on Tuesday at Beit Cure headquarters in Blantyre, FCB’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Twikale Chirwa said: “Firstly, a healthy nation is a productive nation but also healthy children are the future of this country.

“So, we believe that Beit Cure is living the mission and values and they are a trusted partner which we feel to support to develop socio-economic status of Malawi,”

Taking his turn, Beit Cure Malawi Executive Director, Elly Chemey commended First Capital Bank (FCB) for the donation describing it as ‘timely’. He also described FCB as a longtime partner.

“We are very much excited. The bank has been our long standing partner. This fundraising dinner will help us raise resources locally and internationally to support children from across the country to access help here in Blantyre,” said Chemey

He then appealed to concerned individuals, organizations and the corporate world across the country to emulate First Capital Bank’s gesture.

According to Chemey, the hospital targets to raise over Mk 105 million and the country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima is expected to be the guest of honor at the fundraising dinner.

Established in 2002, Beit-CURE International in Malawi is the only hospital in Sub-Saharan Africa recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Located in Blantyre, the teaching hospital comprises 58 beds, three operating theaters, and performs over 1,200 life-changing reconstructive and orthopedic surgeries each year for people suffering from treatable disabilities.

In addition to world-class clinical service, CURE Malawi ministers to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their communities.
