Court adjourns hearing case of Muthalika’s stepson

The High Court in Mzuzu has adjourned to this afternoon hearing of a case in which Former President Peter Mutharika’s stepson Tadikira Mafubza, is being accused of murder and human trafficking.

Mafubza is answering the charges alongside five other suspects Samuel Navaya, David Luhanga, Thomas Gidson, Duncan Kalulu and Bornface Ngulube.

The accused were arrested last year in connection to the 30 bodies of suspected illegal immigrants that were discovered in a mass grave inside Mtangatanga Forest Reserve in Mzimba District.

This morning, the case came before the court this for plea taking where it was adjourned for later in the afternoon.

The adjournment is due to the result that one accused person’s is yet to have his case be committed to the High Court and the adjournment is therefore to allow the state to commit the case to the High Court.
