Legendary musician Lucius Banda on Friday gave music fans a rare treat at Nalipiri ECO Lodge in Mulanje District with a lively performance on his first appearance at the venue.
The legendary musician appeared on the stage at midnight after his crew, including Nepman took turns to give fans a sample of what was in store for them.
Banda kept the patrons on their toes when he performed songs, mostly done by public demand such as Mabala, Yellow, and Esther.

Speaking during the show, the musician-cum politician thanked God for keeping him alive after an illness left him bedridden in 2021. It was not surprising that songs of praises to God dominated.
In an interview after the show, he said applauded the fans for turningout in large numbers.
“The show was great. I was impressed with the turnout and the way we the people were pleased with my performance. We definitely will be visiting the places more shows,” said Banda.
Nalipili proprietor Shadreck Namalomba said the patronage should motivate other musicians to consider holding shows at the place.
“It is the first show by Lucius Banda. The patronage was massive Being the first show, the people of Mulanje, Phalombe, Luchenza and Thyolo wanted support to Lucius Banda. It’s marvelous and awesome. We appreciate the people that have come,” he said.
Namalomba, who is also Mangochi South West legislator, also promised more entertainment shows
“A number of activities have been lined up. We would like to appeal to all artists. Lucius Banda is a legend and has appreciated the place and everyone has enjoyed. We expect all artists to come here because Mulanje is a tourist attraction area,” he said.
