Gay marriages case shifted to June 5

The High Court seating as a Constitutional Court has shifted to June 5 and 6, 2023 hearing of case where some applicants want same sex laws to be declared unconstitutional in the country.

Initially, the case was scheduled to commence this morning.

Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Nyirenda said he received a communication that the shift has been done to give time to some interested parties who have joined the matter.

The court is expected to rule whether indulging in same sex activities in the country will be a crime or not.
