CDEDI baying for Chakaka Nyirenda’s blood, to hold vigils at his office from Monday next week

The Centre for Democracy and Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has said it will go on with vigils at the office of the Attorney General’s office at Capital Hill in Lilongwe this Monday.

The development follows a failure by Lilongwe District Commissioner Dr. Lawford Palani to call for a meeting with CDEDI and AG Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda on the evidence of full recovery of the MK750 million meant for Affordable Input Program AIP.

Sylvester Namiwa, Executive Director for CDEDI has told the press that they have no choice as the meeting failed to take place and now they are to proceed with vigil at the AG’s office from Monday.

The grouping wants Chakaka Nyirenda to resign for failing to recover money paid to a butchery company by the Ministry of Agriculture officials.

Chakaka Nyirenda is yet to comment on the matter.
