Police releases 106 students from Dowa Secondary School

Police in Mponela have unconditionally released the 106 students from Dowa Secondary School, who were arrested on Wednesday night, for allegedly inciting violence and also causing damage to the school’s property.

Mponela Police Spokesperson Macpatson Msadala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Msadala, the development follows a meeting that various stakeholders including member of parliament for the area Darlington Harawa had in the district.

He said although the students have been taken back to the school’s campus, investigations into the matter are still underway.

The students, allegedly went on rampage after they had earlier complained that they were being served breakfast late.
