Government boost its bilateral relationship with Norway and Morocco to support education sector

The Minister of Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, and the Deputy Minister of Education Nancy Chaola Mdooko on Wednesday had the honour of hosting, Her Excellency Ms. Ingrid Marie Mikelsen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the morning, and His Excellency Abdelkader Naji, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in the afternoon.

Their meetings centered on the bilateral relations of Malawi and the two countries, respectively, and on the support the two countries are providing to uplift the standards of education in the country.

Norway is supporting a number of programmes including School Feeding, Inclusive Education, and Foundational Learning; whereas Morocco’s support in Education is mainly on Higher Education scholarships.

The Director of Higher Education Dr. Levis Eneya and the Director of Secondary Education Dr. Florida Banda, the Deputy Director of Inclusive Education Mrs. Lucy Magagula, as well as the Deputy Director of School Health, Nutrition, HIV and Aids, Mrs Maureen Maguza-Tembo joined the meetings with the Moroccan Ambassador, and the Norwegian Ambassador, respectively.
