“The bottom-up approach in development projects is the right direction because it enables people on the ground to choose the kind of development they want,” he said.
Nthache said he was pleased that people mentioned food security, water, sanitation and hygiene, health facility, community-based childcare centres and additional primary schools as priority areas.
World Vision Malawi Mwanza District programme manager Semu Samson said they will consolidate the proposed projects and decide the course of action to assist the communities.
“The next thing is to develop the action plan and budget for the projects mentioned. It is obvious that we will start with food security and child protection and advocacy,” he said.
Nthache Area Development Committee chairperson Steven Chimpeni pledged to support the organisation during the implementation of the projects.
With support from World Vision United States of America, the organisation is expected to implement its activities in Mpandadzi Area Programme for 12 years.
