In a shocking turn of events, two police officers from Chipata Central Police Station in Zambia have been arrested for allegedly stealing K2,000 from a suspect’s wallet.
The officers have been identified as Detective Inspector Chilumbu and Inspector Mawere, and they are said to have committed the crime while apprehending a suspect for stock theft.
According to reports, the suspect in question, Samuel Sakala, was accused of stealing two cows, and the police officers went to apprehend him in the Give-way area. However, upon searching Sakala, the officers allegedly found a large sum of money in his possession and decided to steal K2,000 from his wallet.
This despicable act of theft by the very officers who are supposed to uphold the law has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing their outrage and disgust at the actions of the two officers. The police have since arrested and charged the officers with theft, and they are currently awaiting trial.
