Government stands on its decision of relocating refuges to Dzaleka camp in Dowa

Government has maintained its decision of relocating asylum seekers and refugees to Dzaleka camp despite calls to withdraw the decision.

In an earlier statement signed by the Ministry of Homeland Security Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma , the foreign nationals residing in rural and urban areas have given 14 days until April, 15 to relocate themselves to Dzaleka Camp.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Refugee Agency- UNHCR has said the decision will likely bear disastrous consequences on the lives of the refugees.

However, Spokesperson for the Homeland Ministry Patrick Botha, has said that government will stand by its decision saying the move is in accordance with the law.

Botha has continued advising refugees to follow proper channels for them to live in the localities
