A 17-year-old girl in Mulanje has been arrested and charged with murder offense for allegedly hitting to death his 32-year-old brother after the two picked a quarrel over oranges.

Mulanje police spokesperson, Innocent Moses told the press that the two picked a quarrel on Sunday over the fruits and this resulted into a fight.

“Realizing that the girl was overpowered, she took a pestle (musi) and hit his brother on the head,” said Moses.

The brother died on Monday and postmoterm conducted at Mulanje Mission Hospital revealed that death was due to severe head injury.
