Former minister of Information and Digitilisation Gospel Kazako has donated two heads of cattle to Mthawira Parish evacuation camp in Machinjiri, Blantyre.
Kazako said every Malawian has a duty to play in easing the pain of those under the weight of the effects of Tropical Cyclone Freddy.
He said: “The pain we are facing is unbearable. It has never been seen before. We have to share the little we have.”
Parish priest Elezio Nthalilka thanked Kazako for the gesture, saying the meat will supplement the survivors’ diet.
“There are 244 survivors. Of which 143 are children. We have three centres in the parish so we will ration the meat,” said Nthalika.
