President Lazarus Chakwera is this afternoon scheduled to face lawmakers to give them an update on Cyclone Freddy Assessment.
This comes as the Department of Disaster Management Affairs DODMA has indicated that as of 21st March 2023, the death toll has now reached 507.
Meanwhile, the number of displaced people is at 553,614 with 543 camps set to accommodate the displaced.
It has further reported that number of injured people has reached 1,332 while those reported missing is at 537 from 427.
Chakwera is returning to parliament barely five weeks after he delivered the State of National Address SONA for the upcoming 2023/2024 financial year.
