A tragic incident has occurred in Kalomo’s Tara area, where the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) has gunned down an elephant believed to have killed two community members in Kanchele on Sunday.

The Kalomo District DNPW officer in charge, Kaunda Banda, revealed that the stray wildlife animal had been causing havoc in the area for over a month.

The situation became particularly dire in Kalomo District, where at least two people have been killed, and several others have been attacked by elephant.
