The Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, has pledged to donate his entire salary for the month of March to victims of Cyclone Freddy in the Chilobwe area.
The minister made this announcement on Thursday at the Naotcha Camp, where he also gave out 200 thousand kwacha in cash to support those affected by the disaster.
Zikhale Ng’oma, who grew up in the Chilobwe area, expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the victims of the Cyclone and their families.
He emphasized that the impact of the disaster has hit him hard, particularly since the affected areas are where he spent his formative years.
Chilobwe township in Blantyre has been heavily hit by the Cyclone recording a bigger number deaths, injuries while others are still missing.
