Ex-VP Cassim Chilumpha turns down Mutharika’s invitation to DPP’s blue night

Former Vice President Dr. Cassim Chilumpha who is also Assembly for Democracy and Development (ADD) Party President has turn down an invitation to attend the blue night dinner and dance organized by the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

DPP has organized the fundraising dinner and dance with an aim of raising funds of the party’s elective conference set for July this year.

Former President Peter Mutharika is expected to grace the fundraising dinner dance dubbed DPP blue night at Mount Soche Hotel this evening.

In a statement signed by ADD Vice President Peter Bradford Sapanga said Chilumpha is committed to other engagement hence his refusal to attend the event.

“The former Vice President of the Republic of Malawi who is also the President of the Assembly for Democracy and Development (ADD) party Right Honourable Dr Cassim Chilumpha SC is wishing all the best to the former State President of Malawi who is also DPP president, Professor Arthur Peter Muthalika and the entire party on their Blue Dinner which will take place this evening at Mount Soche Hotel.

“The former Vice President further want to acknowledge the invitation to the dinner but would also like to apologize that due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond control, he cannot manage to attend,” said Sapanga.

Meanwhile, all is set for the event this evening.
